Question : Correction in Date of Birth

(a) whether the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) allows correction in date of birth within five years from the date of declaration of Exam-result;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the details of the process laid down by the CBSE regarding the application submitted after the standard period of five years;
(d) whether the Government is considering to amend the said rule to provide relief to the students;
(e) if so, the details thereof; and
(f) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) & (b): Yes Madam, As per Rule 69 as defined in Examination Bye-laws of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Notifications No. CBSE/Corrd/EC-31-03/2015 dated 25.06.2015 and Circular No. CBSE/Corrd/AS(C)/112576 dated 10.11.2017 respectively. CBSE allows correction in Date of Birth (DoB) within five years from the date of declaration of Exam Result and has been made applicable from 2015.
(c): Copy of Rule 69 as defined in Examination Bye-laws of the Board and notification dated 25.06.2015 and 10.11.2017 giving detailed rule position for change/correction in name/date of birth is at Annexure – I & II respectively.
(d) to (f): No Madam.
