Question : INCLUSION OF COMMUNITIES IN STS LIST



(a) whether the Government has received proposals for inclusion of communities in the Scheduled list of notified tribal communities from various State Governments including Chhattisgarh;

(b) if so, the details thereof, community-wise and State-wise;

(c) whether the Government is aware that there are some castes/tribes which were included in the notified list of Scheduled Tribes (STs) in the undivided Madhya Pradesh but were denotified as STs after the formation of Chhattisgarh;

(d) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor; and

(e) the corrective action being taken/ proposed to be taken by the Government in this regard?

Statement referred to in reply to Lok Sabha Starred Question No. 142(2nd Position) for answer on 23-03-2012 asked by Shri Madhusudan Yadav and Shri Adagooru Vishwanath

(a)&(b): Yes, Madam. A Community-wise and State-wise list of proposals received from various State Governments including Chhattisgarh is enclosed,

(c): Yes, Madam,

(d): (i) Keer (in Bhopal, Raisen and Sehore districts), (ii) Mina (in Siron sub-division of Vidisha district),(iii) Pardhi (in Bhopal, Raisen and Sehore districts) were de-scheduled through The Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Orders (Amendment) Act, 2002 published on 8th January, 2003. The de-scheduling is not related to the formation of Chhattisgarh State out of undivided Madhya Pradesh. These communities were de-scheduled as per approved modalities.

(e): The Proposal received from State Government for re-inclusion of (i) Keer (in Bhopal, Raisen and Sehore districts), (ii) Mina (in Siron sub-division of Vidisha district), (iii) Pardhi (in Bhopal, Raisen and Sehore districts) into the Scheduled Tribes list of Madhya Pradesh is under process in accordance with the approved modalities for scheduling of communities as ST.
