(a) whether the Government has recruited women officers under Territorial Army 2019 notification;

(c) whether the Government is taking any measures to upgrade the weapons and quality of bullet proof jackets; and

(a) & (b): Yes, Sir. The details of women officers recruited in Territorial Army is as under:

2019 13 Cleared SSB. Commissioning is subject to availability of vacancies.
(c) & (d): The weapons & equipment and bullet proof jackets for the Indian Army are upgraded periodically after a deliberate process of planning and in consultation with all stakeholders. The present quality of Bullet Proof Jacket is good.
Apart from various schemes for procurement of weapons and equipment, 12 contracts under normal procurement and 30 contracts under Fast Track Procedure (FTP) have been concluded during the current financial year. As per the contract signed in 2018 for providing 1,86,138 Bullet Proof Jackets, 1,20,000 have been delivered.
