(a) whether the Government has any plans or has taken any steps to setup the entire Railway line from Upshi to Phey 51 Km this year itself;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) if not, the reasons therefor and the time by which the Government plans to do so ?

(a) to (c) Final Location Survey (FLS) of Bilaspur-Manali-Leh has been undertaken as a strategic line deposit work of Ministry of Defence. Upshi-Phey 51 Km stretch is part of this alignment. Further, consideration of this line is possible once the Final Location Survey report becomes available and results thereon are firmed up. Presently, there is no other separate proposal under consideration to set up Railway line from Upshi to Phey (Leh).
