[a] & [b] Prime Minister`s visit to the United States, at the invitation of the US President, is expected to contribute towards establishing a closer and qualitatively new relationship and deepening co-operation between India and the United States, in accordance with the vision of the bilateral relationship in the 21st Century outlined by Prime Minister and the US President on 21st March in Delhi. It is expected that all issues of mutual concern, including that of the remaining US unilateral restrictions on India, will be discussed by the two sides.
[c] & [d] Prime Minister will pay an official visit to Washington from 15th to 17th September 2000. He will also visit New York and San Francisco.
[e] The two sides will discuss intensification of co-operation across the full range of bilateral activities, including trade and commerce, finance and investment, energy and environment, science and technology, counter-terrorism and law enforcement. Regional and international issues of mutual interests will also be discussed.
