(a) and (b) : Yes, Sir. To explore & develop Internet of Things (IoT) industry in the country, Government has already set up a Centre of Excellence for IoT at Bengaluru. This centre is being set up in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode with outlay of Rs. 2195.22 lakh with Government of India contribution of Rs. 1077.72 lakh at NASSCOM Bengaluru. The Government of Karnataka has provided space for setting up of this Centre of Excellence of Bengaluru.
(c) and (d): Yes, Sir. The policy framework is about setting up ecosystem for IoT in the country. It is achieved through Incubation of start-ups, Setting up of IoT laboratories in academic institutes, Research and Development in IoT applications, Development of Standards and Human Resource in IoT.
Government has released “National Machine to Machine(M2M) Roadmap” in May 2015. This document focuses on communication aspects of M2M with emphasis on Interoperable standards, policies and regulations to suit Indian conditions across all sectors in the country.
