(a) & (b): Rehabilitation/rebuilding/strengthening of bridges is an ongoing process on Indian Railways. Railways undertake rehabilitation /rebuilding/ strengthening of bridges on the basis of their physical condition as ascertained during regular inspections carried out in the field.
Zone wise no. of bridges rebuilt /rehabilitated/ strengthened in the XI Five Year Plan till Marâ10 i.e., from 01.04.07 to 31.03.10 are as follows:
