STATEMENT REFFERED TO IN REPLY TO PART (A) TO (F) OF THE LOK SABHA UN- STARRED QUESTION NO.243 FOR 25.02.2015 ASKED BY DR. P. VENUGOPAL, SHRI SUMEDHANAND SARSWATI AND SHRI G. HARI, HON’BLE MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT REGARDING NEW IIMS.
(a) & (b): The status of each of the 6 new IIMs being established by the Government is as under:
Sl.No. State Mentor Institute Land
1. Bihar IIM Indore The State Government of Bihar has offered land in Bodh Gaya.
2. Odisha IIM Calcutta The State Government of Odisha has offered land near Bhubaneswar. 3. Maha- IIM Ahmedabad The State Government of rashtra Maharashtra has offered land in Nagpur which has since been accepted by the Central Government. 4. Punjab IIM Kozhikode The State Government of Punjab has provided land near Amritsar which has been accepted by the Central Government. 5. Himachal IIM Lucknow The State Government of Pradesh Himachal Pradesh has offered land in Sirmaur. 6. Andhra IIM Bangalore The State Government of Pradesh Andhra Pradesh has provided land in Visakhapatnam which has since been accepted by the Central Government. Foundation stone of IIM Visakhapatnam has also been laid on 17th Jan. 2015.
(c) & (d): The teachers-students ratio prescribed for IIMs is 1:10. The details of vacancies positions of faculty is as under:
