(a) whether the Union Government have received proposals from a Member of Parliament and from the Chief Minister of Orissa to initiate flood control measures, repairs of Canals and modernisation of Akhupada barrage, across the river Baitarani;
(b) if so, whether any financial assistance has been sought in these proposals; and
(c) if so, the decision taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) to (c) No proposal for Flood Control Measure in Baitarani
River Basin has been received in Central Water Commission.
However, modernisation of 19,700 hectares out of the total
command of 32,700 hectares of Baitarani Irrigation System is
already included under World Bank assisted ongoing Orissa Water
Resources Consolidation Project.
