(a) & (b) Sports Authority of India (SAI) centres are set up after taking into account the need for such centres in a particular geographical region. At present, there is no proposal under consideration in this Ministry to set up any SAI centre at Silchar. However, the North Eastern Sub Centre (NESC) of SAI, located in Guwahati, Assam, inter-alia, covers the State of Assam, thus catering to Silchar as well.
