(a) whether the Railways is considering to run a luxury train modelled on the palace on wheels on the Buddhist Circuit;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether IRCTC is also considering to form joint ventures with China and Japan in this regard; and

(a) & (b): Luxury tourist trains are introduced at the instance of State Tourism Corporations / Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation. Presently, there is no proposal to operate luxury tourist trains on Buddhist Circuit. However, a Buddhist special train is already in operation utilizing a conventional Rajdhani rake offering facilities comparable to a semi luxury train.
