(a) the details of essential kit items provided free of cost to the personnel of Army, Navy and Air Force, service-wise;
(b) whether these essential kit items have not been supplied during the last three years and the current year;
(c) if so, the details thereof along with the reasons therefor; and
(d) the corrective measures taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) to (d): Essential clothing & uniform items on life cycle concept are provided free of cost to defence personnel. Procurement of these items and their supply to the troops is an ongoing process. To speed up the procurement cycle, Government has taken certain actions like establishment of Empowered Committees with sufficient powers and placement of roll-on indents on Ordnance Factory Board catering for 5 years requirements.
