(a) &(b):In the interest of conservation and systematic development of minerals and for the
protection of environment by preventing or controlling of any pollution which may be caused by
prospecting or mining operations, the Central Government has framed the Mineral Conservation
and Development Rules 1988. As per these Rules, all the mining lease holders for major minerals
are required to do mining as per approved Mining Plan and guidelines issued by the Indian
Bureau of Mines (IBM) from time to time.
(c)&(d):The IBM conducts regular inspection of the Mining Leases and points out the violations
to the leases under intimation to the State Government, from time to time. Details of
inspection taken, violation pointed out and action taken by IBM for the last three years are
given below:
