Question : Disinvestment Plans of BPCL

(a) whether the Ministry has finalised the disinvestment plans for Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), if so, the details and the process thereof along with the details of total revenue expected to be accrued by the said disinvestment;
(b) whether any objections have been raised by any State Government or employees in this regard, if so, the details thereof and the action taken to redress their grievances;
(c) whether it is a fact that the Ministry is halting the privatisation of Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL), if so, the reasons therefor;
(d) whether any plan has been chalked out for keeping the identity and ownership of the NRL exclusively in the PSU mode even after the disinvestment of BPCL;
(e) the details of such other companies which are proposed to be privatised in similar manner; and
(f) the details of profit earned by NRL and BPCL during the last three years and the details of CSR funds utilised during the said period?

(a) to (e) Disinvestment is the subject matter of Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) and DIPAM has informed that Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) is mandated to approve strategic disinvestment of Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs). This Ministry has not finalized the disinvestment plan of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL). Certain representations have been received in this regard and actions are taken on such representations in the light of the disinvestment policy of the Government.
