(a) Yes, Madam. Ministry of Culture operates a Museum Grant Scheme under which financial assistance is provided to State Governments, voluntary bodies, Societies and Trusts etc. for setting up new museums and for development of existing museums.
(b) The details of proposals received from various States/UTs and their present status is at Annexure-I.
(c) The proposals received under Museum Grant Scheme are considered by the Expert Committee constituted for the purpose and grants are released on the recommendation of the committee and acceptance thereof by the competent authority.
(d) State/UT-wise details of funds released under Museum Grant Scheme during the last three years is at Annexure-II.

2. Arunachal Pradesh District Museum, Along, Aalo, Arunachal Pradesh In principal approval is given & Seed Money of Rs.30 lakh released to State Government on 30.3.2012 to undertake emergent work and preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR). DPR not received.
3. Himachal Pradesh Museum Of Kangra Art, Dharamshala Proposals approved. 1st installment of grant released in 2014.
Bhuri Singh Museum, Chamba
Himachal State Museum, Shimla Grant for preparation of Detailed Project Report released in 2014. DPR not received.
4. Jammu & Kashmir SPS Museum, Srinagar Proposal approved. Two installment of grants released.
Regional Museum, Leh, Ladhak (J & K) Grant for preparation of Detailed Project Report released in 2013. DPR not received

Hill Palace Museum, Thripunithura Proposals approved. 1st installment of grants released in 2012
Koyikkal Palace, Nedumangad
Pazhassi Raja Museum, Kozhikode
6. Madhya Pradesh Local Archaeological Museum, Sironj Proposals approved. 1st installment of grants released in 2013. Utilization certificates not received from State Government. Last reminder issued on 2nd December, 2015

Maharaja Ranjit Singh (Summer Palace Museum), Amritsar State Government has been requested to submit Revised DPR. DPR not received.
Archaeological Museum, Sanghol, Fatehgarh Proposals approved. Grants released.

Government Museum, Mandore, Jodhpur
Government Museum, Sisodia Rani Bagh, Jaipur Expert Committee recommended that the State Government should prioritize any three museums out of their six proposals. These museums were not prioritized by the State Government.

Government Museum, Ahar Grants for preparation of Detailed Project Report for these three museums released in 2014. DPRs not received.

Gandhi Centenary Museum, Karimnagar In principal approval is given & Seed Money of Rs. 33 lakh released for undertaking emergent work and preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR). State Government has been requested to submit complete proposal. Revised DPR not received.
12. Tripura Tripura State Museum, Ujjayanta Palace The proposal considered by the Expert Committee. Revised proposal as per the recommendation of the committee not received
13. West Bengal Bengal Natural History Museum, Darjeeling Proposal approved. 1st installment of grant released
