(a) whether the Government has constituted any task force to
chalk out strategies for the vocational education programme;
(b) if so, the details thereof including composition of the
task force and its terms of reference;
(c) whether the task force has submitted its report;
(d) if so, the salient features of the
recommendations/suggestions; and
(e) the steps being taken/proposed to be taken to implement
them?

(a) to (e): A Task Force on Skill Development has been
constituted by the Planning Commission to make
recommendations including strategies on vocational education
and training Programmes. The composition of the Task Force
and its terms of reference are given at Annexure. The
Planning Commission has informed that the Task Force is
expected to submit its report by the end of March 2007.
