(a) to (b) Under Skill India Mission, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) is delivering skills through its flagship Scheme, i.e., Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY). Amongst other initiatives, a Rojgar Mela is part of a placement outreach strategy to fast-track the interaction between employers and job seekers across the country including the State of Telangana. Rojgar Melas are conducted by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendras (PMKKs), Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) and Training Providers (TPs) under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). It is an event where skill trained candidates and employers are brought to a common platform to ensure best recruitment/ selection choices for an employer and appropriate job opportunities for a skill trained candidate.
Further, MSDE has launched Aatmanirbhar Skilled Employees Employer Mapping (ASEEM) portal, which acts as a directory of skilled workforce. The objective is to provide a platform that matches supply of skilled workforce with the market demand, thereby facilitating better livelihood opportunities for youth and availability of ready skilled manpower to employers.
As on 31.12.2021, a total of 2,54,267 candidates have been shortlisted for various job offerings through 1,576 Rojgar Melas conducted across the country. A total of 2898 candidates have been shortlisted for various job openings through 36 Rojgar Melas in the State of Telangana. Further, after onset of Covid 19 pandemic and due to social distancing guidelines, no new Rojgar Melas have been conducted so far in the State of Telangana. District/ year-wise details of Rojgar Melas conducted during 2018-2020 in the State of Telangana are placed at Annexure.
(c) Most important sectors participating in these Rojgar Melas are Beauty and Wellness, Construction, Electronics, Green Jobs, IT-ITeS, Life Sciences, Management & Entrepreneurship & Professional, Media & Entertainment, Retail and Rubber. As on 31.12.2021, a total of 36 Rojgar Melas have been organized in the State of Telangana, out of which 17 sector specific Rojgar Melas have been organized.
