Question : Skill India Rozgar Mela

(a) whether the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) organized Skill India Rozgar Mela recently;


(b) if so, the details thereof along with the aims and objectives thereto;

(c) the number of visitors/job aspirants who attended the event along with the corporate companies participated in the mela;

(d) whether the Government has fixed any criteria for short listing and offering myriad job roles to youths across industry;


(e) if so, the number of youths shortlisted for the jobs;

(f) whether the Government has created any awareness campaign to popularize the said event, if so, the details thereof; and

(g) whether the Government intends to organize such Melas for generating employment for the youths in the country including Madhya Pradesh especially in Bhind and Datia Districts and Kushi Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, if so, the details thereof

(a) to (c) Yes, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) organized a 2-day Skill India Rozgar Mela at Bikaner on 12th & 13th October, 2019 in FY 2019-20. These Job Melas are conducted to provide job opportunities to the job seekers in the age group of 18-45 Years by connecting them with the employers on a common platform. A total of 3700 registrations (job aspirants) attended the event and 81 corporate companies participated in the mela.

(d) & (e) The candidates are counselled by the counsellors at the respective Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra’s (PMKKs) before their enrolment in skill development training for a particular job role. Post counselling, the candidates are allocated a job role based on their mindset, aspiration & academic qualification. A total number of 2023 youth were shortlisted for the job.

(f) Yes, various promotions were done by different modes of communication i.e. print advertisements, social media, physical workshop in local or nearby colleges, Bulk SMS, Press Conference, Outdoor Branding etc.

(g) NSDC through its PMKKs and other Training Partners conduct Rozgar melas on PAN India basis as it’s an ongoing process. Based on the details shared by the respective PMKKs in Datia & Kushi Nagar, two - Rozgar Melas are scheduled as follows: 23.11.2019 in Datia and 05.12.2019 in Kushi Nagar.
