Question : REVAMPING OF PROGRAMMES FOR MINORITIES



(a) whether the Government has any proposal to revamp the programmes meant for minority communities in the wake of ghar wapsi/home-coming programme across the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;

(c) whether the population of minority communities has reduced in the wake of `ghar wapsi /home-coming` programme across the country; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and the steps taken by the Government in this regard?

(a)&(b)This Ministry does not have any proposal to revamp the programmes meant for minority communities in the wake of ghar wapsi/home-coming programme across the country. The Central Government is committed for the overall socio-economic and educational empowerment and upliftment of the minorities, for which various programmes and schemes are being implemented in the country, some directly by the Centre and others through the State/UT Governments.

Any such type of programme cannot affect the Government’s initiative and commitment for the inclusive development and empowerment campaign of the Central Government.
