(a)whether the Coal India Limited and its subsidiary companies are violating the labour laws by not constituting the works
committee as required under Section-III of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947;
(b)if so, the details thereof; and
(c)the action taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) & (b): Complaints regarding non- constitution of Works Committee as required under Section 3 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 have been received against Coal India Limited and its subsidiary Companies by the Office of the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) and its field Offices. The number of complaints received against different Units are as under:
