Question : Merger of SVPISTM

(a) whether there is any proposal with the Government to merge Sardar Vallabhbhai
Patel International School of Textiles and Management (SVPISTM) with Central
University of Tiruvarur in Tamil Nadu;
(b) whether the Government has also received any representation from the
institution; and
(c) if so, the details thereof and the action taken by the Government in this
issue?

(a) to (c): Ministry of Textiles has informed that a number of representations for
merger of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textiles and
Management (SVPISTM) with Central University of Tamil Nadu were received.
After consideration of the proposal, it has not been accepted.
