(a) & (b) The Government have received certain complaints made against the former President of the Medical Council of India. The nature of complaints relates to amassing wealth disproportionate to known sources of income and the Income Tax raids conducted at his residential and official premises. This has also been taken cognizance of by the Hon`ble High Court of Delhi in its judgement dated the 23rd November, 2001. The Court has directed the Central Bureau of Investigations to investigate the matter. The case is presently pending before the Hon`ble Supreme Court of India.
