(a) & (b): The National Common Minimum Programme has pledged to target
subsidies to the poor and truly needy sections of the society. In pursuance of
this, the Government has asked the National Institute of Public Finance and
Policy (NIPFP) to prepare a blueprint to accomplish the objective of targeting
the subsidies.
(c ) & (d): The NIPFP is expected to
submit its full report shortly.
