(a) the details of the funds sanctioned for the project under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) during the current year;
(b) the details of the projects sanctioned in Kerala under the scheme during the last three years and the current year; and
(c) whether the Government proposes to launch more projects under the scheme and if so, the details thereof?

(a) The Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme, which was restructured and implemented with effect from May, 2018, in 1300 identified Minority Concentration Areas (MCAs) of the Country with the objective to develop socio-economic infrastructure assets and basic amenities in these areas. The areas covered under PMJVK were increased from 90 Districts originally, to 308 Districts in 33 States/ UTs w.e.f. May, 2018. The MCAs include 870 Minority Concentration Blocks (MCBs), 321 Minority Concentration Towns (MCTs) and 109 Minority Concentration District Headquarters (MCD Hqrs) added for the first time. The scheme has now further been revised for implementation w.e.f from 2022-23onwards in all Districts of the country including all the Aspirational Districts.

During current Financial Year 2021-22 projects worth Rs. 2226.46 crore have been approved.

(b) The areas covered under PMJVK in Kerala were increased from only 2 Districts originally, to 13 Districts covering 23 blocks, 43 towns and 7 district Headquarters. The scheme after further revision for implementation w.e.f from 2022-23 cover all the districts of Kerala.

A total of 70 projects amounting to Rs. 198.32 crore have been approved under PMJVK in the State of Kerala during the last three financial years and the current financial year. The approved project include which include2-Additional Class Rooms (ACRs), 10-Common Service Centres (CSC), 01-Hostel, 02-Hunar Hubs, 10-Health Related Projects, 01-ITI, 02-Market Sheds, 01-Sadbhav Mandap, 17-Toilets, 14-School Buildings, 03-Skill Centres, 03-Smart Class Rooms, 03-Working Women Hostels and 01-Seminar Hall. This also includes 19 projects worth Rs. 129.93 crore approved during 2021-22. The major projects approved during last three years and current year are Construction of Skill Development Centre at Nilambur, Malapuram at a cost of Rs.7.92 crore, Construction of Girls'' Hostel Building at Nilambur, Malapuram at a cost of Rs. 9.97 crore, Construction of Integrative Centre for Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy at Malapuram for Rs.7 crore, Construction of Advanced Medical Complex for Taluk Hospital (New Block), Malapuram at a cost of Rs. 9.72 crore and Construction of Government District Hospital at Vatakara, Phase II at a cost of Rs. 83.18 crore.
Apart from these, 2 Hostels for Central University, Kerala amounting to Rs. 38.22 crore in Kasaragod, 2 Hostels for off campus centre of Aligarh Muslim University amounting to Rs. 49.15 crore in Malapuram, 11 Smart Class Rooms for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya amounting to Rs.0.33 crore in Malapuram and 163 Smart Class Rooms for Kendriya Vidyalaya amounting to Rs. 7.36 crore in Wayanad, Kasaragod, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Kolam, Kannur, Kozhikode and Palakkad have been approved under PMJVK scheme in the State of Kerala.

(c) Projects under PMJVK are approved based on the proposals submitted by the States/ UTs as per the felt need of the identified areas. The thrust of the PMJVK programme is to allocate at least 80% of the resources for education, health and skill development and atleast 33-40% of the resources for women centric projects. For the year 2022-23, an amount of Rs. 1650 crore has been allocated for PMJVK. The revised PMJVK has been approved by the Government for implementation in all districts of the country from 2022-23 onwards. All 14 Districts of Kerala namely, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kannur, Kasaragod, Kollam, Kottayam, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Palakkad, Pathanamthitta, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur and Wayanad are now covered under PMJVK.
