Question : IGNWPS

(a) the details of beneficiaries identified under the Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS), State/UT-wise including Karnataka and Gujarat;

(b) the details of funds released to the States for the said scheme during the last five years and the current year;

(c) the number of SC/ST widows identified among the beneficiaries under the said scheme, State/UT-wise;

(d) the details of pension amount given to SC/ST widows during the last five years and the current year; and

(e) whether the Government proposes to link the social security pensions like National Old Age Pension, Widow Pension and Disability Pension to inflationary fluctuations and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

*Till 2013-14, funds under the schemes of NSAP were released as Additional Central Assistance (ACA) by Ministry of Finance/Home Affairs to the States/Union Territories in a combined manner for all the schemes together.


(c) &(d): Schemes under National Social Assistance Programme(NSAP) are only for the persons belonging to below poverty line(BPL) household.

(e): No Madam, the assistance under the schemes of National Social Assistance Programme(NSAP) is increased from time to time.
