Question : AVAILABILITY OF SULPHUR FREE PETROL DIESEL

(a) Whether the Government propose to provide sulphur free petrol and diesel for use in the vehicles so as to minimize the loss suffered to the human life due to vehicles emission in the cities like Delhi.

(b) if so, the details in this regard;

(c) whether price of petrol is likely to affected as a result thereof; if so, the details thereof; and

(e) the time by which the said scheme is likely to be implemented?

(a) & (b): As a continuous effort to meet the stringent emission norms, the sulphur content has been brought down to 0.15% max. by weight in petrol and 0.25% max. by weight in diesel, as against 0.2% and 1.0% respectively which existed last year.

( c) to (e): No decision has been taken so far.
