Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES
(SHRI NITIN GADKARI)

(a) to (e): Yes, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has already launched e-commerce platform named as Govt. e-Marketplace (GeM). MSME Vendors are being on boarded in this platform for the benefit of MSME Sector.

Procurement from GeM is mandatory for Central Govt. offices/PSUs/Autonomous Bodies. The usage of Payment Platform on GeM is compulsory for Central Govt. offices/PSUs/Autonomous Bodies. This paves the way for reduction in the days taken otherwise in receipt of payments.

Government has taken several steps for export promotion. These include support to MSMEs for participate in the international exhibitions/trade fairs/buyer-seller meet, etc. abroad, for holding International conferences/seminars/workshops in India and under Export Credit Guarantee Scheme. The share of MSME related products in export during 2018-19 (provisional) is 48.10%.
