(a) whether the Government has received any representation seeking issuance of notification of Bannerghatta National Park’s Eco-Sensitive Zones(ESZs);
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government is aware that notification is pending for a long time;
(d) if so, the reasons for delay in issuance of notification of the said ESZ; and
(e) the steps taken by the Government to issue the Notification of the said ESZ at the earliest?

(a) & (b) The Government has received representations regarding Bannerghatta National Park’s Eco-Sensitive Zone notification. The representations inter alia relate to alteration of the area of eco-sensitive zone specified in the draft notification and early finalisation of Eco-sensitive zone.
(c) to (e) The draft Notification for declaring Eco-Sensitive Zone (ESZ) around the Bannerghatta National Park in the State of Karnataka has been published on 15.06.2016and subsequently republished on 30.10.2018, inviting comments/ suggestions of the stakeholders. The views/comments of the stakeholders received on draft Notification have been shared with the State Government for analysis and recommendations. The proposal has since been considered by the Expert Committee on ESZ.
