Answer given by the minister

Minister of State in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION

(Dr Mahesh Sharma)

(a) to (e) : Scheduled domestic airlines are operating from 78 airports including tourist destinations within the country as per summer schedule 2015 ( Annexure - 1)

However, information on destinations with tourism viewpoint are not required to be maintained as per existing regulations. Therefore,
information specific to air connectivity to famous tourist destinations and withdrawal of flights from such destinations is not available.

Further, Government has laid down Route Dispersal Guidelines with a view to achieve better regulation of air transport services of different
regions of the country. It is, however, up to the airlines to provide air services to specific places depending upon the traffic specific
demand and commercial viability. As such, the airlines are free to operate anywhere in the country subject to compliance of Route DispersalGuidelines (RDG)
