Question : POLICE INTELLIGENCE CONFERENCE



(a) whether it is a fact that in a three day conference of the top police and intelligence officers from all over the country has discussed the problems in facing terrorists and decided to set up a mechanism to bring about coordination among various police forces to tackle the terrorism; and

(b) if so, the details regarding the suggestions made to bring about coordination among various security agencies guarding the country`s borders?

(a) & (b): A three-day Conference of DGPs/IGPs of States held at New Delhi from September 29 to October 1, 2002 has discussed issues pertaining to law and order and terrorist activities and decided inter-alia to have greater coordination amongst the Central Security Forces and the State Police Forces to deal with internal security problems.
