Question : HEART KIDNEY AND BONE RELATED DISEASES



(a) the measures taken or proposed to be taken by the Government for making available treatment relating to heart, kidney and bone diseases at affordable cost particularly in view of the rising population of the old people in the country;

(b) whether the Government proposes to set up new hospitals with specialized facilities for treatment of these diseases in the country;

(c) if so, the details thereof, State/UT-wise including Bihar;

(d) whether the Government also proposes to equip hospitals with newly-developed Nano-sensors devices for the cost-effective and fast diagnosis of heart diseases in the country; and

(e) if so, the details thereof and the time by which it is likely to be done?

MINISTER OF THE STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE (SHRI GHULAM NABI AZAD)

(a) Treatment for heart, kidney and bone diseases is provided free of cost to all persons below poverty line and at subsidised rates to others in Government hospitals.

(b)&(c): Yes, Madam. The Government has approved establishment of eight AIIMS-like institutions with super -speciality facilities at Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Rajasthan, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Uttarkhand, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

(d)&(e): At present, there is no proposal with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to equip hospitals with nano-sensor devices for diagnosis of heart diseases in the country.
