STARRED QUESTION NO. *100 FOR ANSWER ON 08TH FEBRUARY, 2022 REGARDING “IMPLEMENTATION OF PMFME SCHEME”.
(a) & (b): Yes Sir. Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) is implementing a centrally sponsored "PM Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme" for providing financial, technical and business support for upgradation of micro food processing enterprises in the country. The scheme is operational for a period of five years from 2020-21 to 2024-25 with an outlay of Rs 10,000 Crore. Support to upgrade existing units or setting up of new micro units for individuals is provided through a credit linked grant @ 35% with maximum grant of Rs. 10.00 lakhs. The Scheme also provides support to food processing units of Self Help Groups (SHGs) / Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) / Cooperatives for credit linked subsidy@35%, Seed Capital to SHGs, Incubation Centre, Common Infrastructure, Marketing & Branding and Capacity Building.
(c) & (d): This Ministry does not set up food processing industries on its own. The PMFME scheme provides grants-in-aid to upgrade existing units / setting up of new micro units / Groups. 14 applications from Nabarangpur and 11 applications from Malkangiri districts of Odisha have been received for setting up of micro food processing enterprises for credit linked subsidy under PMFME Scheme.
