(a) whether the National Institute of Ocean Technology is working on generating electricity through sea water;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether any cost effective analysis has been done in this regard;

(d) if so, the details thereof;

(e) whether the Government is planning to set up such projects on pilot basis in the country; and

(f) if so, the details thereof?

(c)&(d) At present,generating electricity through OTEC and wave energy is not found to be cost effective at commercial scale due to high capital cost,low level of power generation and other technical reasons.
