Question : Restructuring of CABA

(a) whether the Government and Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has implemented the resolutions passed by the Central Advisory Board on Archaeology (CABA) in its 30th, 31st, 32nd and 33rd Board Meetings and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;

(b) whether it is true that CABA meeting has not been held during the last five years and more and if so, the reasons therefor; and

(c) whether the Government has any plans to restructure CABA and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) Yes, Sir. The Archaeological Survey of India takes action to implement the resolutions passed by Central Advisory Board of Archaeology (CABA) and many of them have been implemented. An Action Taken Report is also submitted during the consecutive meetings.

(b) & (c) Yes, Sir. The meetings of the CABA could not be held as it was being reconstituted. However, regular meetings of Standing Committee of CABA were held regularly.
