Question : CASUALTIES IN PMF



(a) the details of casualties registered in Para Military Forces (PMF);

(b) the compensation paid to the victims/their dependents during each of the last three years, force-wise including Assam Rifles; and

(c) the steps taken by the Government to check such incident in future?

(a) & (b): The details are as under:-

(C): Concerted efforts are made to improve the training of the forces particularly in jungle warfare, weaponsand tactics etc. to avoid casualties. High-tech equipments such as night vision devices, thermal imagers, spotter scopes, modern weaponery, bullet proof jackets and patkas etc. have been provided to the troops. Standard Operating Procedures are also continuously updated on the basis of the experience gained from incidents and other inputs.
