Question : GAS FOR RAMGARH EXTENSION PROJECT IN JAISALMER



(a) whether the Government have received any representations from the Government of Rajasthan regarding the finalisation of agreement for additional supply of gas for Ramgarh Extension Project in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan;

(b) if so, whether the Government of Rajasthan have earmarked Rs.45.00 crore for the current financial year for installation of additional 1 X 35.5 MW Gas Turbine and 1 X 35.5 MW steam Turbine at Ramgarh;

(c) if so, whether the Government have directed the Oil India Limited and GAIL to supply the minimum required quantity of gas and HSD for a period of 15 years to meet the fuel requirement of the Ramgarh GPTT; and

(d) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) & (b) Yes, Sir.
(c) & (d) Presently, around 0.50 million standard cubic metre per day (MMSCMD) of natural gas is being supplied from the fields of Oil India Ltd. and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. to the Rajasthan State Electricity Board for the gas based power project at Ramgarh as per their requirement. Allocation of diesel for power generation, is done on the recommendation of the Ministry of Power. No such recommendation has been received in respect of the Ramgarh Extension Project.
