(a)&(b): The All India average Nitrogen : Phosphorous : Potassium (N:P:K) ratio during 2004-05 is estimated at 5.9 : 2.3 :1 and is skewed in favour of Nitrogen.
(c): The Government is promoting Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) which includes soil test based balanced and judicious use of chemical fertilizers in conjunction with organic fertilizers like Farm Yard Manure, green manure, compost, vermicompost and biofertilizers etc.
