(a) the details of Kendriya Vidyalayas in Uttarakhand which are lacking necessary infrastructure like buildings etc.;
(b) the reasons for unavailability of necessary infrastructure in such schools; and
(c) the steps taken/proposes to be taken by the Government for improvement in such schools?

(a) & (b): There are 14 functional Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) in Uttarakhand, which are running from temporary buildings provided by the sponsoring authorities. These are IIP Dehradun, Rajgarhi, Pauri, Gopeshwar, Bhimtal, Augustyamuni (Chamoli), SSB Srinagar, Lohaghat, Bageshwar, Gwaldham, Rishikesh and ITBP Gauchar in the Civil Sector and No. 1 Banbasa Cantt. and Haldwani Cantt. in the Defence Sector. In case of 3 schools (IIP Dehradun, Rajgarhi and Pauri) buildings are under construction, 2 schools (Gopeshwar and Bhimtal) are at the stage of architectural planning, lease deed formalities are pending in case of 4 schools (Augustyamuni, SSB Srinagar, Lohaghat and Bageshwar) and land has not been identified by the sponsoring authorities in 5 cases (Gwaldham, Rishikesh, ITBP Gauchar, No.1 Banbasa Cantt. and Haldwani Cantt.). KVS has followed up with sponsoring authorities for identification and transfer of suitable land and for finalization of lease deeds.
Construction of permanent buildings for KVs depends upon identification of suitable land, completion of lease formalities in favour of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan by the sponsoring authorities and availability of requisite resources etc.
(c) Government provides grant-in-aid to the KVS for meeting expenditure on creation of capital assets and other related infrastructure required for the schools. In cases where the requisite extent of land for construction of permanent buildings has not been transferred in favour of KVS, the matter is followed up with the concerned sponsoring authorities/State Governments.
