Question : Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences

Will the Minister of AYURVEDA, YOGA AND NATUROPATHY, UNANI, SIDDHA AND HOMOEOPATHY (AYUSH) be pleased to state:

(a) whether Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), New Delhi has proposed any project for making naturopathy and ayurveda accessible to the general public;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the details of the scope of Naturopathy in hill districts of Assam and efforts made by the Government to increase its scope in these areas;

(d) whether any research centre or laboratory or unit of CCRAS has been set up/taken up in this regard in the tribal/adivasi dominated areas of Assam; and

(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) has been conducting research in Ayurveda besides healthcare services accessible to general public through institutes in country in different states with OPD and IPD facility.

In order to propagate Yoga & Naturopathy, Ministry of AYUSH has established two autonomous organizations namely National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN) and Central Council for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy (CCRYN).

(c): The CCRYN has conducted following activities in the North Eastern Region of the country to promote Yoga & Naturopathy:

1. Establishment of 01 Wellness Centres in Agartala, Tripura.
2. Organised One Month Yoga Training Camp to celebrate International Day of Yoga during 2015 to 2018 in all districts of North Eastern Region including Assam.
3. Conducted three days Special Campaign on Yoga & Naturopathy in North Eastern Region including Assam during 2016 to 2018.

(d) & (e): CCRAS is conducting extended Ayurveda health Centre (OPD) at Kamrup (R) and Karbi Anglong districts of Assam.
