Question : FERRY SERVICE AT INDIRA GANDHI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT



(a) whether there is no ferry service available for senior citizens, expectant mothers and sick persons at Indira Gandhi International Airport and if so, the reasons therefor;

(b) whether there is any facilitation Counter at IGI Airport to help the Members of Parliament, senior citizens and sick persons in carrying their luggage and if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether a Passengers Amenities Consultative Committee is likely to be set up in this regard; and

(d) if so, the details thereof along with the time by which it is likely to be set up?

(a): No, Madam. Ferry services are available free of cost to senior citizens, expectant mothers, infants and sick persons at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), New Delhi. M/s Delhi International Airport Pvt. Ltd. (DIAL) has positioned 32 buggies at Terminal-3 to provide these services round the clock.

(b): Yes, Madam. Separate counters for VIPs (including Members of Parliament) have been provided at Reserved Lounge/Ceremonial Lounge at the International and Domestic terminals of IGI Airport, New Delhi. Besides, DIAL has established facilitation/information counters at strategic locations to assist senior citizens, expectant mothers and infants, etc.

(c): No, Madam.

(d): Does not arise.
