Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF RAILWAYS AND COMMERCE & INDUSTRY

(SHRI PIYUSH GOYAL)

(a) to (c): Habra-Bongaon (32 Km) section has already been doubled in two phases i.e. (i) Habra-Chandpara (22 Km) section and (ii) Chandpara-Bongaon (10 Km) section in the year 2012.

However, execution of Machlandapur-Swarupnagar (15 Km) new line Material Modification project to Habra-Chandpara Doubling project could not be taken up due to non handing over of encumbrance free land to Railway by State Government.
