Answer given by the minister

THE MINISTER OF YOUTH AFFAIRS & SPORTS
{ SHRI ANURAG SINGH THAKUR }

(a) and (b) National and international level tournaments in the country are conducted by the respective National Sports Federations. The details of various national and international events to be held in India are available on the websites of these Federations. Further, under the “Annual Sports Competitions” vertical of the Khelo India Scheme, national-level Khelo India Youth Games and Khelo India University Games are also a part of the annual sports calendar.

(c) and (d) ‘Sports’ being a State subject, the responsibility to build sports stadium in villages rests primarily with the State/Union Territory Governments. The Union Government supplements their efforts. The sports complexes approved in various parts of the country are under the jurisdiction of the respective bodies/departments of State/UT Governments. As such, the information about them is not maintained in this Ministry. However, this Ministry has sanctioned 267 sports infrastructure projects of various categories across the country, including rural areas, under the Khelo India Scheme during the last five years.
