Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE

(a) and (b) As per data uploaded by Member Lending Institutions (MLIs) on Mudra portal, as on 31.03.2021, over 90.44 lakh loans involving a sanctioned amount of Rs. 63,744 crore with disbursement of Rs. 62,631 crore have been provided under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) in State of Gujarat since inception of the Scheme in April 2015.

The year-wise and district-wise details of loans provided under different categories of PMMY viz. Shishu (loans up to Rs. 50,000), Kishore (loans from Rs. 50,001 to Rs. 5 lakh), and Tarun (loans from Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh), in the State of Gujarat from April 2016 to March 2021 are provided in the Annexure to this reply.

Details of applications received for loan under PMMY are not centrally maintained. District wise data for 2015-16 was not captured in the Mudra portal.

Under PMMY, institutional credit up to Rs. 10 lakh is provided for entrepreneurial activities to micro/small business units by MLIs viz. Scheduled Commercial Banks (SCBs), Regional Rural Banks (RRBs), Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) and Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs). Branch-wise details of loans provided by banks under PMMY are not centrally maintained.

(c) The complaints received from time to time in respect of implementation of PMMY including turning down of loan applications are redressed in coordination with the respective banks. To bring in customer centricity, regular instructions by Reserve Bank of India and the Government have been issued to redress customer grievances which, inter-alia, includes denial of loans.

(d) The Government allocates annual targets for the amount to be sanctioned by MLIs under PMMY. The annual targets under the PMMY scheme have been consistently met till 31.03.2020. District-wise targets are not allocated under PMMY.

(e) As on 31.03.2021, more than 6.80 crore loans have been extended to New Entrepreneurs/Accounts under PMMY, since inception of the Scheme.
