Question : Assistance to States for Industrialisation

(a) whether the various State Governments including the Government of Uttarakhand have submitted any action plan and sought financial assistance to enhance industrialisation in the States;

(b) if so, the details thereof, State/ UT-wise; and

(c) the action taken by the Government on these proposals?

(a) & (b): Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) has not received any action plan from any State to enhance industrialization in the States. So far as the State Government of Uttarakhand is concerned, a proposal was received to extend the Special Package Scheme, being implemented in the State from 07 January 2003 up to 31.03.2017 for a further period of three years viz. up to the year 2020.

(c) : The Government has decided to constitute a Committee under the Chairmanship of Chief Executive Officer, NITI Aayog consisting of Secretaries of Ministries/Departments of Development of North Eastern Region, Expenditure, Commerce, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Textiles, Tourism, Health and Family Welfare, Power and Industrial Policy and Promotion to examine and suggest a roadmap for a new industrial policy for North Eastern and Himalayan States including Uttarakhand.
