Question : Kendriya Vidyalayas

(a) the number of Kendriya Vidyalayas in the country which have their
own buildings and all infrastructural facilities as on date, State/UTwise;
(b) the number of Kendriya Vidyalayas in the country which are
operating from rented buildings and which do not have
infrastructural facilities as on date, State/ UT-wise;
(c) the time by which the Government proposes to provide buildings
and infrastructural facilities to the said vidyalayas along with the
expenditure likely to be incurred thereon; and
(d) the action plan prepared in this regard?

THE LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. 32 RAISED BY SHRI
SUKHBIR SINGH JAUNAPURIA, HON’BLE MEMBER OF
PARLIAMENT TO BE ANSWERED ON 5TH FEBRUARY 2018
REGARDING KENDRIYA VIDYALAYAS.

(a) 754 Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) excluding project sector (KVs) in
the country have their own permanent building with all infrastructure
facilities. The State/UT-wise details are annexed.
(b) Only one KV i.e. KV Jetpur (Gujarat) is functioning in rented
building having all infrastructure facilities.
(c) & (d) Construction of permanent buildings for KVs depends upon
identification of suitable land, completion of lease formalities in favour of
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan by the sponsoring authorities, availability
of requisite resources etc. As such no time frame can be given in this
regard.
