Question : Research on the medicinal system of AYUSH

a) whether the Government has any plan to promote or strengthen the researches on the medicinal system of AYUSH in the country;
b) if so, the details thereof, State/UT-wise including Madhya Pradesh;
c) whether the Government has any plan to establish the new Medical Plant Research Centers in Madhya Pradesh including Bhind-Datia Parliamentary Constituency;
d) if so, the details thereof; and
e) the details of the funds allocated/sanctioned in current union budget to Madhya Pradesh for implementation of AYUSH schemes in the States including Bhind-Datia Parliamentary Constituency?

a) & b) Yes, Madam. Government of India is continuously working on promotion and strengthening of researches in the AYUSH systems. Ministry of Ayush has established five autonomous Research Councils for dedicated Research in AYUSH Systems. The following Research Councils are established under Ministry of Ayush.
i. Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS)
ii. Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH)
iii. Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM)
iv. Central Council for Research in Siddha (CCRS)
v. Central Council for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy (CCRYN)
These Research Councils have total 87 number of AYUSH research centers in the country. The details are attached at Annexure-I.
Out of total 87 Regional Research Institutes under the Research Councils, there are total 03 Regional Research Institutes/Units in Madhya Pradesh. The details are attached at Annexure-II.
c) & d) No, Madam. Currently there is no plan for establishing new Medical Plant Research Center in Madhya Pradesh.
e) The Ministry of Ayush is implementing the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National AYUSH Mission (NAM) in the country including Madhya Pradesh for promotion and development of the AYUSH system. Under NAM, an amount of Rs. 2479.59 Lakhs has been released to the State Govt. of Madhya Pradesh in the year 2021-22 for implementation of various approved activities of NAM.
