(a) & (b): Despite the difficult terrain, prevailing climatic conditions and active abetment by Pakistan posts along the border, the Government has been able to substantially contain the infiltration of terrorists along the border. Moreover, the Government has taken adequate measures to protect and guard the border. During the current year upto 15.11.2001, about 1629 terrorists have been killed in encounters.
