(a) whether any Hydel Power Plant failed in Uttarakhand last year due to floods along with the financial loss incurred, plant-wise;

(b) if so, the details thereof along with the action taken thereon; and

(c) the details of financial assistance provided by the Union Government to the Government of Uttarakhand for each plant?

(a) to (c) : Dhauliganga Hydro Electric Power Project of NHPC in Uttarakhand remained closed due to flood during the last year. It suffered a total loss of about Rs. 543 crores which is being claimed through the Insurance Company. The Vishnuprayag Hydro Electric Power Project of Jaiprakash Ventures Limited in Uttarakhand, which is a Private Sector Power Project, also remained closed due to flood till April, 2014.
