(a) & (b): A representation dated 05-03-2013 was received from All India
Agro Boards Association, requesting for imposition of an additional 20% customs duty on particle
boards manufactured from sugarcane bagasse and other agricultural residues. It has not been found
feasible to accede to the request, as these particle boards already attract the basic customs duty
of 10%, which is the peak rate of customs duty in respect of non-agricultural goods.
