Question : ALLOCATION OF FUNDS FOR IMPROVING EDUCATIONAL STANDARDS OF TRIBAL POPULATION

(a) the total funds allocated for improving the educational standards of the tribal population in the country, particularly for implementing various schemes for the tribal population in rural and semi-urban areas; and

(b) the total number of residential educational complexes constructed in order to improve female literacy in the low tribal female literacy pockets of tribal areas during each of the last three years, State-wise; and

(c) the number of such complexes proposed to be built in the future, State-wise?

THE MINISTER OF TRIBAL AFFAIRS (SHRI JUAL ORAM) :

(a) The.funds allocated under different schemes of the Ministry for improvement of educatioal standards of tribals is indicated in the statement.

(b) The existing scheme provides for setting up and running of educational complexes in rented buildings or in the buildings owned by the Non-Governmental Organizations. There is no provision for construction of residential educational complexes under the existing scheme.

(c) The schemedoes not provide grant for construction of the complexes.
